    Domain status question - PendingDelete

When the status of a domain shows "PendingDelete" does that mean the domain will be free it a few days?

If yes, can i see if somebody backordered it?

It happened to me twice that I backordered a domain with godaddy that obviously someone else backordered before me.

But their registar didnt set the "REGISTAR LOCK" status and as it seems that process is done automatically, godaddy took the domains from their registar.

So you can always try... if you dont catch this domain, just use the credit for some other in future time.

Problem is that i can't.... it still says PendingDelete but i can't seem to backorder it. Could be that my registrar is causing this error, don't know.

Alot of registrars auction off expired domains (registered with them) that are in the grace period. If it gets renewed during that time, they refund the winning bidder. I'd imagine if it has been auctioned, others can't backorder it. I can't say for sure, but, it seems to make sense and explain why you can't backorder it.

Someone in the domain game can correct me if I'm wrong

It works in a different way, not first come first served on backorder. Once the domain drops, the first request to register it gets it, no matter how long you backordered it. Most domains that are worth it are grabbed by services specialized in this game, using your everyday registrar minimizes your chances to get it to pretty much zero

Pending Delete is a *5 day* period.

Godaddy allows backorders as well, but it look like they aren't really good at catching the domain before someone else does.
