Here's what it says about it on their website:

"Shara is suing Leslie for breach of contract. Shara owns an adult web site and Leslie was a model on her site. Shara claims she had an exclusivity contract with Leslie and she breached the contract by working for other adult web site owners. Leslie claims she didn?t know the contents of the contract because she was coerced into signing it. Leslie is counter suing for deceptive trade practices."

The lady that ran the adult website had a contract with one of her models. In this contract, there was a $5000 fine or penalty for breaching it. Judge Larry Joe ruled that this was illegal. You cannot put a person in 'servitude' like that.

interesting. but there are lots of contracts like that, not just in porn and they're legal. must have been something different about this contract for the judge to conclude that the contract made this model a 'slave' basically.

did they mention how much the model was paid and for how much work?

And that's the problem right there. Porn isn't a "real" industry and doesn't deserve to be treated like one. People sign contracts with penalty clauses all the time. Sounds like a standard non-compete to me. Considering the global scope of the business, it should probably be enforceable if she went to work for any other web porn producer anywhere in the world.

naaaah.. I'm not a lawyer, but I seem to remember something about you can't deprive a person of a means to make a living. Contracts are tricky, you need to have lawyers draw them up, little matters like consideration and shit can trip you up.

if the site owner were a studio or somethign that could keep the model working and provide a living for her they could probably swing something like that, but definitely not for a one-time piddly ass content shoot.
