batch image editing sofware - server side?

anyone knows about a good image editor that could work on my red hat enterprise?

while using http://minishowcase.frwrd.net/ (free ajax - gallery maker) i found out that GD (php module that allows minishowcase to resize and make the thumbs) could not work with my files (.jpg) because they where compressed progressively.

i have uploaded more than 50k pics (x3 sizes each)

anyone knows about a simple image editor that could work server side and take me out of this prob?

    thanks,
    aLe.-

I'm bad at these threads because I just throw shit out there, but you could check out:

      http://www.imagemagick.org/script/index.php

Too lazy to see if it's based on the GD library, but know I've used it it some strange demo applications where I wasn't using any PHP image library, but used it from tick` calls from php (and command line).

And thus, my random spew bumps your post.
      Your post count means nothing.
