    Anyone using SpamAssassin effectively?

I have it on a couple of my servers and I had tested it but found it no better than any other spam software.. false positives etc.

This week I started adding some of my own hardcore rules and I'm up to 50% being labeled spam with no false positives (no white list being used yet). Does anyone else use it with their own sets of rules?

I'm using it with qmail and it works great. I don't get too many false positives, and the one's I do get are mostly sponsor newsletters. My overall threshold is set at 2.0. I have some custom rules/filters setup that I've been tweaking for a while so as time goes by it gets better and better so that helps. That, and the bayesian filters.

I also use ClamAV which also works well.

I'm trying to get to the point where I can have it auto-delete the email so any false positives isn't a good option... Haven't hooked up anything like ClamAV though at this point.. Almost all of the email is spam and not virus etc.

I auto-delete after a certain threshold, and the rest are sorted into a different folder in my outlook that I can go through every once in a while to make sure I didn't miss anything valid.

          Good luck!
