How many here have back problems

I have 2 erniated disk in lower back. 6 years ago it was real bad then it started to get real better when I moved to Curacao in the Carribeans. After a year in Winnipeg and the start of the canadian winters it's starting again.

I have lost some weight so that helps but I still feel it when I got to bed at night and it bothers me.

I got a CAT scan done and waiting on the doctor to send it to me in meantime is there any tips, tricks or excersise anyone here can suggest

My back is fucked. Sometimes the slightest of even normal movement will put me in bed for a day or two. Just last week I strained it sneezing.

Around 99 I severely injured my cartlidge in my lower back. I was working for a Tree trimming sign repair company and was throwing a huge log that weighed almost as much as I did at the time into the back of a dump truck. I felt a pop, and was in a bean bag chair for almost 2 weeks. It was the only thing that made me comfortable.

Pain was really bad on and off, and my legs and sometimes arm would go numb. Ive worked in auto parts on and off since 91 and that was the worse thing. Standing on hard floors all day. I finally took 2 years off just running my game server business I had and working from a laptop while lying on the couch. I had a few months of therapy which never really helped. Had to use a tense unit even for a quite a while, as the muscles would freeze up real bad. It eventually felt alot better. About 7 months ago I started going to a deep tissue massage therapist and she really helped alot. My posture even improved.

Im really amazed my back came back to as good as it used to be, I was afraid of having constant backpain for life. So far I've been doing great *knocks on wood*

had 3 discs fused last year. best thing i ever did. I was in a fucking lot of constant pain before that and now i have a normal life. Rollerbladed for an hour today. drove for 6 hours yesterday(in brazil). I had a hard time sitting for a full dinner and would lay down to eat at home to just avoid the issue. My doctor kept telling me to wait until I could not stand it. Dumb advice as the surgery rocks.

hmmm not too sure about herniated discs but try to keep the back in alignment. Pllow under you knees when you sleep.
Stretch probably have to loose some more weight, keep your stomach muscles strong so they keep the back in line.

Basically thats what the doctor told me for my back, I have thrown it out a couple times. Take some advil to keep the swelling down in your discs, that is usually what causes the pain.

Hopefully by taking care of your body over time you can heal it and not have to get surgery.

Yes it's called Spinal Decompression. I will be looking into this with my neurologist. My partner on InkedNation, the guy that programmed the backend had it done and he said it did wonders

I have something wrong with my back, but not sure what. A couple years ago I was working a spot at a wrestling show where one of the other wrestlers was supposed to hit me, and I was supposed to bump to the table in front of the ring. Comes time to do the spot, he hits me, and I bump....then I come back up and the mother fucker has a fire extinguisher. Nails me with it, I fly over the table and bump on the concrete.

Back hurt like hell for a few days, then I thought it got better. Now, for about the last year or so, whenever I try to bend over I lose all feeling in my legs at a certain point, and then as I bend farther, it shoot pains down my legs.

I make little breaks and go to lie on a sofa. That helps.

I get them frequently and it still doesn't help as much as I would hope.

I grew too fast when I was younger and my left side is longer than my right. It's retarded and I use to go to PT for it, but that wasn't much help either.

Partially is my fault due to my posture, sitting in a computer chair all day and my lack of stretching/flexibility.

I discovered this by accident or desparation.
After suffering severe back strain from more or less laying in my chair when I became tired after 5 or 6 hrs. I would slump down and it left my lower back unsupported. It finally gave out.

After about 2 weeks of getting back to a good sitting posture and visiting the Chiropractor twice a week I was doing OK but sitting for more than a few minutes was just painful. Standing up was the only comfortable position I could get into.

Tried laying on my stomach on the bed or the floor to use the computer which did not work either but was reasonably comfortable but not totally.

I had bought a HoMedics Thera P Magnetic Back Support
belt to apply ice and heat and seeemed to be reasonably comfortable but I always took it off after the heat and ice was done. But by wearing the belt all the time it solved my sitting pain problem. Doesn't have to be really tight just snug it up while standing then sit down.
