The 360 has xbox live which alone BY FAR outweighs anything the PS3 offers.

If you just HAVE to run out and buy something new, go for the Nintendo Wii. At least there's something revolutionary about the wii. The PS3 is the same garbage Sony has been making for years.

I don't have time to put more than say an hour per week into gaming. Multiplayer games suck if you're not a good player, not fun to get killed all the time, or lose every time. you need time to dedicate to the gaming. It's not fun until you're good at it.


I'll buy PS3 for the 'same' reason I got PS2.
Console + DVD for ps2 (I didn't have a DVD-player)
Console + BlueRay for ps3.

..and I didn't like Xbox, nor Xbox360. The joystick and stuff isn't for me. But PS2 has been entertaining and I've liked it, so I'll stay loyal to the same company. I also have DS and PSP, I use DS more..just because it has 'smaller' games I can play while taking a shit. Like Wario touched. heh.

You're buying a PS3 for blu-ray? Heh, that's one of the main reasons I hate Sony. Blu-ray is the Betamax of this decade. I kind of forgave Sony for the Betamax fiasco and bought a PSP with yet another proprietary game format - the UMD. That too has been a colossal flop. I wanted to be able to buy movies in UMD format and watch them while I am on the road. Now since UMD support is quickly dying, I have to rip my DVDs and put them on a memory card so I can watch them on the PSP.

VHS dominated Betamax because of the price vs benefit factor. Betamax offered better video quality but was too expensive for most consumers. Blu-ray is similar. It can hold substantially more data but when games for PS3 are going to cost around $90 a pop, I can't justify the cost. HD-DVD seems like a far more logical choice.

I do have to agree with you on the DS. It's my pooping platform of choice.

About being betamax of today.. I doubt that. There's some companies who've developed the possibility to record both HD-DVD and blueray on the same disc. I believe this will be the way things will go. BOTH the formats will co-exist.

I believe the DVDs hold around 9GBs, and no games have even approached that limit yet on the system.

The 360 DOES supports 1080P resolution. I have it set to that resolution on my TV right now.

The hard drive is removeable, so that can easily be upgraded if needed.

The AAA exclusives bit was true with the PS2, but certainly not with the PS3. Other than Metal Gear Solid (which is rumoured to be coming to the 360 anyway due to the high cost of development and limited PS3 user base) and the Final Fantasy series, they haven't got a lot of big exclusive titles left.

and built in wifi....when you add the options to the xbox its more than the ps2 (bigger HD, wifi, hd dvd upgrade thats coming)

Also, it very obvious you are a fanboy by how you pass off all Sony's products as garbage. Last I checked, PS2 dominated to market and had even outsold the 360 when they were both out. I guess everyone is lining up to buy these old garbage systems huh? God forbid we even take a look at sales figures of software. Microsofts only winners were Halo and Halo 2. I can't even count on two hands how many games Sony has pumped out over the years the demolish MS numbers. Halo series has sold combined 16 million. The first two GTA's on PS2 moved over 26 million. Sure they have been out longer, but it's not like Halo 2 and GTA1/2 are still selling a ton.

Hmm all the games I saw were for $59.99. OMG, did you know 360 games are also $59.99? This is nuts. PS3 games are way to expensive. As for these images, the textures look more detailed on the 360, but they are over exagerated. They are way to sharp, the contrast is way to high, and the lighting isn't so realistic.

The water may look more detailed, but think about it. When does water ever look like that? It look to be mearly an overexagerated procedural texture. I'd say the wate rlooks more realistic on the PS3. Water is calm at times ya know.

The PS3 lighting is simply more realistic.

Let's also not forget that RR7 is probably just a port of the 360 version.

Just go to wally world aka walmart I was there earlier today. They got a ps3 where you can demo play it, and they had another tv showing footage of all the games. From what I saw today the ps3 is a kick ass machine.

The graphics look sharp and crisp, and blow away what the pics on page 1 show.

The only systems I didn't own were Neo Geo, jaguar, 360, PSP, and DS I think. I don't own a psp or ds because I really have no desire to play games when im not at home and i dont own a 360 because I never thought any games looked good. Gears of war looks awsome, though ill probbaly just rent it and play it at my friends.

I bought my PSP so I could play SOCOM and watch movies on the road. DS is strictly for bathroom duty since Reader's Digest only comes once a month. I've been a gamer for about 25 years now (geek alert) and I own pretty much every console from the Atari on. Ever since gametap came out I haven't touched the retro systems. Have you checked it out? It sounds like something you might like.
