I've owned 2 Gateway desktops and a Gateway laptop, and was very happy with all three. Just bought a Sony laptop, and although I've only had it 3 days I love it too.

I favor Dell but I also agree with build your own, but if you don't know how to build your own and don't know anyone that does... I'd go with Dell.

AlienWare computers look friggin awesome but I have never used one nor have I seen anyone with one yet. Their notebooks look tight. That might end up being my next purchase. The bright green one!

ya...the green alienware laptop is sweet..I wanted that one but i priced out the same alienware and mtech lappies and the mtech was much cheaper.

but i can fix this mtech...
