    Database/Product Script

Anyone know of a script that automatically adds products to a database that also puts the products on HTML pages instead of scripted pages?

I have a client that has a search engine on thier site that retrieves all product inquries. Thing is, the client also wants the product pages to be HTML based so they can be read and listed on major search engines.

    Any suggestions?

    Jakk,

I would be happy to write one. You can look around perlcoders.com, the entire site gets regenerated whenever new news, scripts, articles, etc get added.

      Hi,

You could code a form with product-detail inputs and when submitted it adds the entry to a database, and uses a product html template to replace pre-set variables in it with the form inputs. If you need something like that, hit me up. But it's not free.

The best solution is to use a little Apache trick like <file> to make directories appear as parameters to your program. For example, instead of having:

          www.site.com/prod.php?prodid=12

          you have

          www.site.com/prod/12

this is SE friendly and won't require many changes to your code. If your code is in PHP and you need assistance, ICQ me 1240050.
