PHP code under GNU GPL license or other

ok, here is the thing, I wrote a php code and want to distribute it around the net for free because, but I don't want others to edit it and resell it, I want it to stay free.
I would also like for the name of the author of the code (me) to stay in that php code (is that too much to ask in return?)

what license is most suitable for me?

I read a little here: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html but only got more confused

Bump for a coder question! (I think GPL is what you want but I'm no expert)

Oh my GOD, no, you don't want the GPL if you want that.

Dude, he doesn't want to just GIVE it away. Look here. The GPL, LGPL, BSD, MIT, etc are incredibly lax. Hell, BSD and MIT let you take it and just run, for the most part.

If you don't want people to fuck with it and steal from you, the sad truth is that you'll probably have to encode it.

well I can obscure it but that's not the point.
there must a license that can fit my need, how do so many free scripts that the owner distribute have license that prevents them from being saved by those who download them?

license or not, you wont stop people from removing your credits from the script unless you encode it... why? because there is no way of proving that its still there once they upload it...

GPL GNU allows reselling and modifications. What about CC - common creatives?

                      This is what you want:

                      http://creativecommons.org/license/r...&n_questions=3

or just make one however you want it at http://creativcommons.org/
