AVS Ethics Question

I'm starting to get into the AVS game a bit after doing my thang with a normal amateur paysite. I make a living pushing my own original content, but sponsors play just as big a role in my income. Now... with that being said, what are the general rules when using content provided by other sites? For instace, I see a lot of oxcash, nastydollars, etc... content all over avs sites. Of course the person is promoting the site but they're also making money in memberships from joins from the avs.

So... is it considered acceptable to join partner programs, grab their content, build avs sites with their content (as long as you're linking to them in both the free/pay areas) and make money off joins? I'm curious to hear feedback on that because it's certainly an interesting concept.

I assume you are talking about free content provide by various affiliate programs (such as oxcash) being used to create avs sites.

Most avs systems do not care if you use sponsored content on "regular" type sites. If you are looking to build a premium level site, I don't think any of the avs's out there will allow you to use sponsored content.

As for FreeNetPass and AccessForLife, we don't have a problem with you using sponsored content (expect on FNP Premium).

If I fully understand what you're asking, then as I understand it that's OK (at least for the 'basic' level sites) as long as you're making a legitimate, honest effort to upsell the sponsor who provided the content.

When in doubt, contact the sponsor directly and ask.

Right... what I was talking about was the free content provided by the pay sites.

So basically if you build those general avs sites, most sites allow that. If you ask me, that sounds like a pretty sweet deal... making money twice off the same stuff. First you make some dough on the avs sign-up and then hopefully on the paysite join.

I don't think most sponsors will be unhappy with you using the content on the AVS sites. Better traffic & Credit Card available.

Exactly. Upselling avs traffic to sponsors is a very profitable method of marketing in this biz.

In our experience with avs , it doesnt matter much where you got the content as opposed to if the content is clean and good quality and more importantly not seriously overused. In the case of Ox and Nasty Dollars (no disrespect to either of the programs cause they are both good) 99% of the time you are going to run into overuse issues. I've had the discussion with most of the major avs' over the years in regards to a tag on the image , and most of them dont have an issue with it if you approach it from the angle of protecting the images from theft. I would imagine if you tried to use a overused program and approached from the angle of obviously being sponsor content (ie naming your site Bang Bus Rteurns, etc.) you will run into problems with some Premium sites for most avs'. With all that said I have gotten premium sites approved with tagged sponsor content on just about all of the major avs' in their corresponding Premium programs. Just lay low , use the content in an original avs design and offer some value to the consumer and you should have no problems.

Avs traffic is gold, sponsor are much more willing to give their content to avs sites than tgp galleries...

When you see someone using sponsor X's content on an AVS it doesn't mean that this webmasters is allowed to do this, and even if, it doesn't mean that YOU can do the same

ALWAYS ask the sponsor first, ran into some copyright problems when I did that this year. Alot of sponsors are cool about, many will get pissed simply casue you didn't notify them first.

Also, depending on which sponsor's content you use, alot of it is really shitty so no surfers will get past your samples pages, and alot of it has a url embedded and most AVS sites WON'T take it, the exceptions are FNP regular and I think Sexkey.

Also I have seen webmaster who start out using the content legally by making AVS sites and upselling to the sponsor in the members area, and after a while they say "Fuck it" and swap out the sponsor for something else.

I would just use your own content, and maybe have one page with sponsor content in your members area that is one big upsell to the sponsor. 99% of the time the sponsor will never see it, and as long as you have regular content without logos/urls in them that meet the minimum requirements, your golden.
