How many have their Xmas tree up. I just bought one yesterday and will decorate today. I wouldn't have bought a tree but my mom wanted a tree put up.

I have to re-arrange the living room furniture this week, then we can do the tree thing. We're entertaining for the Holiday this year, so it should look a little festive.


But I won't put lights on the house with a gun to my head. I fucking hate that shit. I hated it when I got paid to do it for other people, and I promised myself I wouldn't put myself thru that again.

Ours goes up tomorrow. Last year, I bought one of those trees that looks like a Charlie Brown tree. It's basically a 7 foot tall log with some green things sticking out of it here and there. I love it, my husband hates it. But then in his bachelor days, he always had a live tree that was about 8 feet in diameter. It also fits nicely into our cozy (read: small) living room.

We have a neighbor who leaves their exterior lights up year-round (and lights them every night year-round). We own the house next door, and each year my husband and son set-up an elaborate santa and reindoor configuration, where it looked like santa was flying from one roof to the next, across the driveway. One night, he came home from work in a work truck and forgot he had a mast on top, and tore the hell out of Santa. Dead reindeer were all over the driveway.

He took his time taking the mangled mess down - and the day I saw someone stop and TAKE A PICTURE OF IT, I bitched until he went out and cut the rest down. I expect it's floating around the 'net somewhere
