    Why Is It That

    Why is it that when someone says something is "shit", it means it's bad. Yet when they say something "is the shit", it means it's good ??


    I thought about this today during a conversation i had with someone who just came back from vacation, and when i asked if she enjoyed it, i thought she said it was shit, and so didn't like it. Yet she corrected me and said "no no, it was the shit", meaning she actually did enjoy it...
