    Question for UK webmasters

I've got a question about checks. Until now I used to collect multiple checks and give them to the bank. They processed them together and charged once something like £12-15.

This last time they did it differently. I started receiving a seperate letter for each check and they charged something like 40-something pounds for each check.

How does your bank do it? Should I complain about this?

£40 charge for a $200 check is ridicilous.

          £100.01 - £5,000 £10.00

I used to have the same problem with my UK bank, then I changed my payment type from my sponsor to epassporte... problem solved.

Get an epassporte account and a ATM card, and withdraw your money in cash

No cheque clearing fees, and no record on your bank account for cashing cheques in US$'s

It's the way I do it, give it a try...

OK but epassporte charges a lot of money too.

That sounds wrong if they still have those rates published that you showed. Query it with them and if they dont sort it out consider a different bank. I use Barclays myself and they cash them within a day or two for a relateively small amount (similar to the tariff you showed).

I feel for you and if you are getting £40 per cheque that is just fucking ridiculus, I am looking into the epassporte method once I get a bit more under me. I feel for you mate. Give SterlingCash.com a try they pay in £'s that way no charges at all

                      £40 is rediculous

HSBC charge around £8, more if the cheque is for a large amount
