I didn't say I knew where there was code to do it, just that it can be done. i.e. if someone wanted to steal someone elses code, then they would have the skills to unencode it. I don't know if there's an "easier" way, but the sure fire way would be to recompile php with a bit of code to dump out the unencoded stuff for you. Not that I endorse or recomend you doing that.

so if it is so easy to unencrypt, why do they advertise it as hacker proof.

What is there that is 100% unable to be broken or unencrypted, or at least make it extremely harder for them to steal my code

Why do so many sites say they're the #1 site out there? They have a product to sell.

I'm not sure actually.. I think the "best" is the ioncube/Zend one.. I think that one actualy converts the code into "machine language", bypassing the interpreter, which PHP will then execute directly. Which is why Zend needs to be installed on the server in order to use those programs. But I thought I heard even that one had been "broken".. Not sure to what extent though.. The only other option is for the program to be written and compiled in C.. but there's problems with that as it needs to be compiled for different OSs and processors.

Just google it. I'm sure there's one, such as JAD for decompiling Java bytecode.

However, due to the wide ranging lack of honesty on this board, I doubt any person here seeking to decompile something is in it for "research" purposes.

Furthermore, why would you need to decrypt encrypted PHP? That's pretty much like someone wanting to decrypt encrypted HTML or JavaScript. All you have to do is see what a program does and if you can't understand how to do it yourself, then just learn how to do it.
