Be glad. The damn things are a pain in the ass. My dentist wants to wait for mine to come out a little further before pulling them out, all the while leaving me in pain
If you have a good dentist, this is less bad that everyone makes it seem. You'll have to cool your cheeks and not eat solid food for a few days. Otherwise your cheeks will swell and you'll look like a hamster. But this won't happen if you do it right. Cool it and there will hardly be any pain or swelling and you'll be ready in a few days.
if the wisdom teeth grew vertically, it should be an easy pull.... but if they grew horizontally because you didn't have enough gum space, they have to carve it since its under your skin and that is pretty painful and very bloody.
Mine was the 2nd situation. Not a fun experience Good luck!
Ask for 1-day antibiotic to avoid infection - start eating zink and strong c-vitamins already days before for better healing - avoid nicotine at the day and 48 hrs after - do not eat warm food same day - do NOT suck on straw or drink from bottle, or u might loose the blodclot and get dry socket..that hurts more than u can imagine..even morfin does not take that pain
Day after and several days after, just eat gently. I recommend things like oatmeal, tomato soup. Anything that you dont NEED to chew. Give those gums a good chance to heal Doc. will tell ya.
I find the worst is the puffy feeling from the drugs the stick in you. I will hurt a bit, but it'll be over quick.
The actual procedure isn't too bad because you're numbed up, but the recovery fucking SUUUUUUUUUCKS!!!!!
Your face swells up like you're one of the Chipmunks, it feels like you've been hit in the face with a business end of a shovel, chewing sucks because you've got 4 fresh incisions in the corners of your mouth and in general...the pain is just about the worst I've ever experienced.
Had a script for percs and vicos and they didn't help at all.
It's not that bad, I went to a dentist, so I had to stay awake for the procedure and it didn't bother me much.
Your mouth will swell up alot afterwards, but as long as you keep it clean with a saltwater rinse and avoid drinking from a straw your mouth should heal up pretty quickly.
I would say the worst part is the pain that happens when the local anethetic wears off and you are still waiting on your pain medication prescription to be filled. Once you get the pain meds its smooth sailing.
I had all 4 of mine pulled at once...It hurt, but not as bad as I thought it was going to. The very worst part was that I couldn't smoke for 4 days It sucked
buy some good mouthwash because the taste you will have for the next week is pretty bad
get to hack out some nice blood eels I call them
really wasn't a fun week
then a few weeks later the teeth begab to staiten out giving more pain as well
I think it took me 4 weeks to get rid of the pain those dirty teeth caused me
( they were breaking my jaw and poking into nasel cavitys when i got mine out)
All I can say is good luck

Sort of like this:
i had one like that one and another one that was normal , but mine wasnt so bad , they smash it to bits then suck out the pieces ( i think ) the other one they just pulled
I bruised up all up and down my neck but I bruise easily
It's been 20 years since I had mine done. Be sure to irrigate the holes/pits/whatever as much as possible. I found that getting two small ice packs and using my robe belt to tie them to my jaws helped tremendously
Good luck! You're braver than I am!
I've been meaning to get mine out for some time now, and I just procrastinated this far. (I'm 27 now) They say the younger you are the better. I'm not in pain at this point.. but I know its coming soon. I feel for you girl!! It will be over before you know it. xoxo, Sandee
It was a peice of cake... I go there, get put to sleep, wake up with all this junk in my mouth and 10 mins later I am good to go . the only sucky part was how this blood/spit mixture would build up and you would have to spit it out like every couple hours the first day, but after that its just soft smushy food for about a week and its not really bad at all..
yeah, I had that too. But the fact is as brutal as it sounds, your asleep the whole time. Apparently they had to chop mine up into pieces and remove it. I had all four top and bottom taken out at once, and you just wake up with all this tissue in your mouth, you replace it every once and a while and your golden. You will be laid out for about 1 day, and your face gets all fluffy but it didnt really hurt... The only crappy part is if you get over zealous with chewing hard food and you happen to bite down on your gums in the back, that hurts, but you learn quick
when I had all 4 of mine removed while in the Navy, the oral surgen said.. "do you want a running count as I go", I shook my head yes and he said... "four". He had already took 3 out... I didn't feel a thing. Ask for something other than demerol.. that gave me nightmares. It didn't hurt too bad afterwards, but I got hungry and you can't chew or you will pack food into the wholes and cause an infection.

Man, I was awake for my whole process. Two of them were horizontal and anesthesia ran out in the middle of it so they had to reinject me during the surgery. Not fun!!!!!!!!!!
i guess you'll be suffering for a few days... good luck
