    Search Engine Guru's-explain this...

One of my domains reached the number one spot on Google yesterday for one of the most commonly searched "adult" words on the net. Here's the strange part...

The domain is only about 2 months old...and it was the first time registered. (It's an odd combination of 2 words.... one word being the search word). And the page google indexed doesn't even have a title....no meta tags..no description..nothing. It's simple my index file for the domain, with 3 non adult words on it. No links...nothing...

And, checking the link popularity shows the domain is very low on the food chain.

    Ahhh...the strange world of google.

Of course, I am going to add a pop-up or 2 from the page and hope the addition of some java script doesn't delete the page out of the SE. This just seems odd.

install the google toolbar or post the url here so we can check the PR of the domain.

Google does not use META tags, I am guessing that you must have many sites, and link them all to each other (ie: site 2 & 3 have links on site 1, site 1 & 2 have links on site 3, etc)

to have your domain come up #1 on a search for the domains name is not unusual, however the 2,317 unique visitors today is.

I presume you are not complaining

Post the domain and keyword and I can look into it. Otherwise, there's not much we can do to explain your ranking... you may want to be quiet about it though. Don't complain about good quality free traffic. Some of us are paying a lot for the same thing!
