Using Multiple Processors? Good or Bad?

with the new Visa fees,

Do you guys think it is a good idea or a bad idea to have multiple processors?

Do you think it is a necessity to have multiple processors if we are just starting out?

I don't think multiple processors will be an option for long. The whole reason to do it is to cut down on declines-- which is to say, to increase the risk of chargebacks. It seems pretty clear that Visa should like that even less than a lot of the stuff they have already figured out to ban.

I guess I don't think it makes much sense. Sales go up a bit, chargebacks go up a bit, and there's more chance of things getting complicated with Visa down the road. Not a big deal now, though, so I could go either way, practically speaking.

Think about what you are saying there. Why would the charge back ratio be any higher ??

The scrub list that the processors use will be the same as if they where the only processor on your site. Its not like they are taking off the scrub because they are processor number 2 or 3.
What you have to remember is that even though one of the processors are denying your credit card it doesnt have to mean that this is a stolen or bad credit card. The different processors have different scrubbing rules, thats why EVERYONE that we have installed the mpa2 program to have got at least 20% more signups. And not even 1% higher charge back ratio !

And not only that, you can also offer your clients to signup with check, paypal and dialer too.
