More about cheating

I saw on T.V. a short time ago the results of a study that had been done among highschool students. I don't remember the exact stats involved but the study showed that the overwhelming majority of highschool students have cheated, do cheat and further more do not think that there is anything wrong with cheating based upon "well everyone does it". These kids are the future business men of America, including some that will become webmasters, so the old saying, "never trust anyone" will be even more applicable.

I can't relate to that. I have a 9th grader that informed me last week that she's going to Stanford for law..

I will. I know both the girls have made comments before and don't like cheaters.

Let me know the results of the conversation. Not so much about what they have to say about themselves or their friends, but more so about what they have to say about other students at school. You seem to keep late hours, although not as late as me I think.

I can't cheat. I am not married. There have been several recent threads about cheating/shaving. If the study that was done is accurate it shows the future of our society, not that values are not already bad enough.

Hell, everyone thinks you are pathfinder..

So if one should not cheat what should one do with the spouse that has no interest ? Could you imagine that happening in your 30's and still being married to the person 40 + years later ?

I'm a little older so I didn't have the internet while I was in high school. If I had it I probably would have found 15 ways to cheat in each class. I would most likely pay a really smart student in India 10% of my TGP gallery money to do my homework. OMG! It's just too easy now a days.

Kids would have to be out of their minds not to cheat on some things. Any kid with computer skills would also be stupid to not make some kind of money from the computer as well. At least pushing X-10 cameras on Britney Spears sites beats mowing the lawn.

Times are different so the same rules don't apply. What kids learn in high school is of little importance in life. Only the social skills are truly important. Business is not won by what you know but what you make happen, even if you had to pay someone else to do it. The actual experts in a company are rarely the The BOSS. The boss is the one who can organize and make efficient decisions. The sooner kids learn that the better.

Cheat away kids, cheat away... just don't fuck over people in the process.

the smart kids cheat (those who can get good grades but rather cheat and not study), I have a hard time beleiving that a non-cheating good student has a place in the adult biz...

but it's propably diffrent from school to school, why the fuck would I study a whole day when I instead could work on some webpages and make more in a day than my classmates made the whole month from their after-school jobs...

i hated writing papers in college... not to mention reading all the shit i wasn't intersted in. i find nothing wrong with cheating on core classes that you're required to take, whether you want to or not. it's much easier to spend a couple hours cutting and pasting than a couple nights reading and writing(and i usually ended up learning more about the subject). that said, i still used the net to guide me in certain directions in the classes i did enjoy. i think knowing the resources and knowing how to use them effectively are good skills to have. advantage to the kids that know how to use them effectively

Yes, I did ask them.

They said they don't like cheaters and do not see anyone doing any type of cheating at their school besides this one boy that cheated on their gf...LOL...

I agree with what was posted earlier that it depends on the school.. Their high school is 2nd in the state on star testing so there are alot of gifted kids and lots of parents that volunteer. I was actually suprised when my girls told me a few weeks ago that the cheerleaders are not popular at the school and are actually made fun of..

The jazz choir ,dance/choir and other choirs are what is popular. Packs the house for concerts.

It was supposed to have been a national study but what types of schools were included, who knows? All studies/polls have to be taken with a grain of salt as they can be, and often are, skewed to gain the desired result.
