I was reluctant to try that as I've heard the video editing features are very limited. I'm downloading adobe premiere elements now so hopefully that'll work
Well, usually you convert to FLV, not edit in it. So unless you are editing already created FLV files, your best best is to do the editing in Premiere, FCP, iMovie, or whatever your preferece, then compress it to the FLV file. Editing a compressed file, and recompressing it, just makes it twice as crappy.
