There is a model that has been shooting with a few of the photographers around here for a little while now. She is a sweet girl and fairly petite. I have been trying to book more shoots with her but her boyfriend does not like what she is doing. This has brought on some big problems for her.

I talked to her a week ago today and she was in tears. Telling me about the shit he was doing to her. Yesterday I had my assistant call her so the boyfriend would not be suspicious. She broke down again and told us that he has destroyed everything she has...Lamps, clothes, you name it...It is gone.

Today she called me from a friends house. She is broke, has no place to stay, and owns nothing now. The boyfriend told her if she calls the cops that he will hunt her down. He is experienced in martial arts and has multiple weapons.

My initial response is to grab a few friends and pay the fucker a visit. A buddy of mine runs a Ninjitsu Dojo in town and between the two of us, we could put him to shame. I know this is not the right thing to do but if she is afraid of him then calling the cops for her will do no good since they will require her to press charges. If she goes to a womens shelter...They will make her call the cops too.

It is not like me to sit back and watch somebody get abused like this so I am looking for options. This is a serious issue and I would hate to read her name on the front page of the newspaper tomorrow.

Ah...I am very proficient in martial arts, trouble is...when you use them on the streets, you usually get arrested, especially if the cops know you have martial arts experience.

Wouldn't the obvious answer be to call the police, get him arrested and obtain a restraining order?

I dont know the specific details, or what state she is in. But it may be good for her to contact the police and get a restraining order. I know they dont always work, She will need to be careful.
If I were her, I would get a permit to carry a gun. (also shooting lessons, so she wont miss) She needs to cover all the bases so she will be safe. A womans shelter may not be a bad idea. They are in disclosed areas. I hate to hear shit like this.

Yes. I suggested the restraining order to her yesterday and again this morning. He has her afraid that he will "hunt her down" if she calls the cops. Personally I think that if he were to get beat within an inch of his life and left naked on the highway that he would most likely not say a damn thing himself...Especially since he does not personally know me.

Does your city have good police for dealing with these sorts of things? People with experience who get assigned to abuse cases, I mean. I gather some larger cities may have such people. If so, talk to them-- just don't report it to some joe schmoe cop. Maybe the people in the department, be they police or civil servants, will have better advice than a random selection of porn people.

1) Cops are not needed for a restraining order but she does have to go to the courthouse. I told her I would take her if she wanted.

2) A scarred petite girl with a gun is in FAR more danger than with no gun. PLUS getting a permit takes 45 to 90 days around here.

FYI... I left out the part where I did call the cops yesterday. They showed up at the wrong house and called me back so I again told them what house. They never called me again and she did not mention anything about them comming by.

Aaron, I would tell her that if you or your/her friends help, that she is TO NEVER get with that cocksucker again. I mean not even a phone call. She actually already owes me for some photoshoots. I am not as concerned about that as I am about her saftey. I can pay the client back for the shoots that he wants done but I can not fix her if the boyfriend fucks her up. The physical damage is bad enough but the mental damage he can be causing is horid.

Either just kick the guys ass and be prepared to deal with the consiquences.. (ie, Legal Problems... or worse, he has bigger friends with less to lose than you).. Or stay out of that part, help her work with the police and tell her to get the fuck out of there.

I'm sure you can easily help her have the guy arrested. Help her move her shit to one of her friend's houses. Spend a few bucks on an attorney and help her get a restraining order against the guy. She doesn't need to be intimidated by this fucker. Bottom line, she needs to get out of that situation.

I believe you can help her much more by keeping a level head about things and giving the legal system a chance.
