Big problem with firewall (ZoneAlarm) help!!

The firewall (Zone Alarm) was not loading at the start up as it used to, so I uninstalled it and installed again, it is not loading yet, but on top of that I can only use Internet Explorer, FireFox and Opera are not loading any site at all, as if they had to be set up in the firewall settings.

Any help much appreciated.

No, I just uninstalled it and everything is back to normal, but now I don't have a firewall. Does one coming with XP is enough/good at all?

I'm kind of afraid to not have a firewall at all

the MS one is bout ok, I use a hardware one, ZA is amazing but it puts a huge load on your pc

I have mine disabled and use a hardware firewall..try tiny personal firewall..worked good for me.I had problems with zone alarm before also

You guys need to explain to me what is your own personal use of a firewall.
Personally I don't have any on my home comp and I never had any problems

May be we are a little paranoid, I asked a friend, who works in the IT field, what firewall does he use, he told me he uses none, there's no need to.

I think better safe than sorry.
