Interesting responses. I thought I got enough news and such from Google news and the other news sites. It seems like this is overkill to the whole social filtering. I'm about to check it out though.
I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...
Digg is in theory a great site, and you can get a nice influx of traffic if your article makes it to front page ... but know that digg is for the most part a social club of 60 editors that call the shots and decide who gets front page or not ... if you look at all the front page articles, the same 60 people have the majority of them!
Also unless you are one of the 60 elite editors, posting a link that is self promoting is not permitted ... they will attack you for posting a link that goes to a site you run, even if the content is newsworthy ....
I think the concept behind digg is great, but the cowboys running the show need to let the community have more say ...

Sound like you have a scary emotional attachment to this website.
Ya OK ... you caught me.
All I am saying is that if you are not one of the 'cool 60' at digg, then you are just reading for entertainment value ...
If your not one of the cool 60, you might get 2 dozen diggs from an article ... and if you are not allowed to link to a site you operate, then what would you care about getting your article dug?
