    Classical guitar..

How hard is it to learn Classical guitar ?

How long does it take for someone that knows absolutely nothing about it or reading notes to learn to play fairly decent?

    Any ideas?

depends oin how much you practice.

The finger picking takes some time, but if you play for several hours a day, after about 6 months you should be able to pick up songs and play them.

The learning curve is slow at first but once you learn the technique, you'll become better and better quickly. Of course that's if you practice.

It depends... Some people can play Stairway to Heaven in the first sitting. I would try to find what is your forte.... Is finger picking it? Maybe learning with a pick would be better for you. In general, I think finger picking is tougher than playing with a pick. Do you have a classical guitar?

What is your approach? Did you buy some books or videos or do you have a teacher?
