Refering URLS, trade-script versus sponsor programs

Howcome do alot of sponsor program having lots of dificulties getting the refering URL for sales right (I often see that 30-40% of the sales are N/A) when trade scripts manages this just fine?

Maybe it's just my imagination...

Yeah, ccbill seem to lose about half of the referers. Statistically only about 20% of the surfers floating around TGP circles have referers blocked.
