alexa question

i have 3 sites
site 1 is the busiest
site 2 is next
and site 3 is last

however alexa says that
site 3 ranking is 492838
site 1 ranking is 2,404,702
site 2 ranking is 3,046,652

even though site 3 gets approx 1/3 of the traffic than the others it seams higher ranked
or am I reading it all wrong

Alexa ranking are based on people using their toolbar only... sooo better alexa traffic means, more people are accessing your site with their toolbar turned on.

Is there not an Alexa cookie that's included with XP that tracks one's surfing habits?

Alexa only counts those with the toolbar.

Alexa just isnt very reliable - depends on the audience your sites have, Alexa´s "littleness" etc.

dont spend any time on the crap site
saying that .. its not a crap site as such, its just too localised so i built another similar site which covers the same things but a wider range
as in www.ukbums.com tends to limit itself to the uk where as the www.postyourpartner.com site has no limits at all
