What is optimal bitrate for 512x384 DivX in your opinion? For a paysite.

I would never use DivX in a paysite or in any gallery, paysite or whatever.

I have MPEG and WMV beside this. But for high resolution movies DivX is better than WMV.

Try AutoGordianKnot freeware - simply open your media file and select the target size for your DIVX file - for example, 300 MB or more and the program will convert with 2 passes. In advanced options don't forget to select DIVX codec and fixed width of the future video file, and the mp3 bitrate. As was described above the average bitrate for 90 minutes - 700 MBytes is 800-1000 Kbits bitrate. Each minute of the DIVX video for 512x384 or higher must be about 8-10 MBytes minimum - more per minute will get file size increasing.
All these values are approx. and could be calculated.
The DIVX encoding require 0.2 bits per each pixel minimum - for example you make NTSC video, that is why you have 29,97 frames per second, and your frame resolution will be 512x384. Let us calculate - 512*384*29,97*0.2/1000 = 1178 Kilobits per second minimum. The AutoGordianKnot and the other two passes programs will analyze your video source for the motion activity, and the bitrate could be lower, cause there are no multiple dynamical scenes in the adult movies, and the video compression results for the adult are the best, that is why the 2 hours adult DIVX videos with 700 MB size could looks great.
