    HTML Only???

Okay ya'll - This is my last pester on this site (at least until I do another version in 6 months or so)...

How important do you think it is to have a non-Flash version for people?

    Thanks

I wouldn't do anything that excludes customers just because they may not feel like installing a prticular plugin. Most people will have Flash, but why risk it? Really, Flash is just eye candy. It doesn't make a site easier to navigate ormore useful. It's just kind of cool.

If a website was for the web surfers I would go with an html version but your page is for webmasters and they should have flash installed. No need to build an html page.

Well I got off my lazy butt and did it anyway, but thanks for taking the time to respond. I went with the "can't hurt" philosophy. Now I'm gonna watch the stats and see how many people go to each. That ought to be telling.

Anyone know what the current penetration rate is for Flash? I would think anyone who is potential buyer will have it on their PC. Why worry about someone who odds are won't be a customer anyway?

It's possible to automatically detect flash right? And just redirect them if they dont have it?

                Flash is non-necessary.

Not sure hwo true this is. Hate to single anyone out, but as an example, I find the isprime site so fucking annoying.

Flash penetration rate (I won't giggle I swear!)

I've looked to a number of sources for this and see anything from 65% to 80% listed. When I ran a simple auto refresh that waited for a small flash movie to load and refreshed to a non-flash page if the flash didn't load, I saw about 40% of the people getting pushed to the non-flash. So I figure if you factor 5 - 10% of the people in having hit the refresh because of super slow connection, not just missing Flash, you end up around that 65% mark.
