You?re stranded on an island in the middle of the South Pacific. You find a genie in a bottle who grants you 6 wishes/things. These can be people or tangible items, including food. Tell us your wishes and why.

If I've learned anything from sci-fi/fantasy literature, its that wishes, no matter how innocent sounding, always go awry. You'll get what you wished for, but not necessarily what you meant. For example, taking a few of the wishes of preceeding posters:
Becca - wish #5: Civilization
You suddenly notice a copy of Sid Meier's Civilization I (for mac), lying at your feet.
ConvertoMan - wish #1: Charlize Theron in heat.
Charlize Theron would appear before you. The genie would tell her that you had just wished her here to your deserted desert island away from her life of luxury. Since you are obviously the worst kind of kidnapper (the kind with a Genie), she would then make it her goal in life to kill you and escape from the island.
Penrod - wish #1: Time Travel
The minute you wish for time travel, a time machine appears before you. A man steps out explaining that he is from the future. He has come back in time to when the great Penrod, the father of Time Travel, first wished for time to be possible. He shakes your hand thanking you for bestowing the benefits of time travel upon mankind. He then produces a ray-gun, shoots you dead, and steals the genie bottle for himself.

A magnificient buffet appears before you. It is piled high with ever possible delicacy imaginable. Within a couple of hours the island is positively teeming with all manner of wildlife gorging themselves on the buffet with wild abandon. You can scarely find a morsel for yourself amongst the flapping, snapping, crawling, buzzing, bitting mass of birds, bugs and animals devouring the buffet.

The genie obeys your command and produces for you a 6" toy boat. The boat is a marvel of model making, perfectly balanced and totally seaworthy. Try as you might it will not capsize or sink.
UnseenWorld - wish #4: a power plant
Suddenly covering 95% of the island, is a new high tech nuclear power plant. Upon entering the control room you find spec sheets that say the power plant is capable of producing enough
power to supply a large city. Wondering why none of the lights in your new power plant work, the genie tells you that you didn't wish for any fuel. (Not to mention the knowledge of how to run a nuclear power plant)
Voodoo - wish #6: World Peace
The genie snaps his fingers and then announces that from this point forward there will be world peace. The genie neglects to mention that he achieved this by killing every human on the face of the earth, except you.
