    Partitioning

    What's a good way of partitioning a 120GB RAID-1 hard drive ?

I'm thinking 10GB for windows, 2GB swap file, 40GB software and remaining 68GB for miscellanous.

    Any thoughts ?

I could also leave the whole thing in 1 piece.

Why partition it for Windows OS's? Folders are enough organization..

I donno I heard you get better performance. Didn't really make much sense since it's the same HDD after all.

I'm not sure about the Windows Server OS, but regular windows reads smaller partitions easier and faster. Might be true about servers as well. 120g is alot of space to hunt unless you are one of the few that fill in their html tags in full for graphics, pics and the like

lol .. a format c: response might actually be on topic lol

anyways, id go with what you're thinking only keep the progs and misc as one. Also 2G swap is too much.. maybe 1.5

2 GB swap file is ok if you have 4 GB of memory... my swap was
X 2 of memory what I read but I never used even half that. I also set my swap file size... I don't let windows
do it.. one way to make it a little faster is if you have it on another physical drive... so I have mine at 300 megs now and windows still never use's over 70% of it.

well is there really a performance benefit from partitioning or is it just used for organization ?
