    Tech question: wireless keyboards

A friend called, she started up her pc and got a message that keyboard error or no keyboard present, press f1 to continue.

Obviously, pressing f1 isn't going to help. Anyone have any ideas as I have never dealt with one.

    Thank you in advance

tell him to hook up a basic usb keyboard in there also. and just hide it iff possible.

      maybe that will bypass it.

Okay, can you tell me what the receiver might look like? (I am not there, trying to talk her thru over the phone)

There is sometimes a connect button on the keyboard or on the thing that plugs into the computer. I would try hitting that button. Also maybe a restart and plugging it back in?

            Just some ideas ...

Does her computer run USB from boot, some older systems, and systems with outdated bios don't load USB hardware until software boot, which can cause similar problems with wireless devices.

Quick fix, setup the computer with a standard ps2 or serial keyboard, and tweak in the wireless once everything is running properly.
