I have never been a big animal fan, although I have had a few fish tanks.
I actually had a nice tank full of fish here at home... I went on a trip to japan, totally forgot about my fish, didnt get anyone to feed them - cane back 21 days later and no fish...
I dont think I will get pets again...Comment

When I go back home for a few weeks in December, I'll either get a pet sitter, take the fish to a pet store, or have a neighbor take care of him until I return. 1-3 times a week is a bit much..
I've got a bunch of Lake Malawi African Cichlids.. I only clean out my tank every 2 months or so, and they're thriving. Things are breeding like rabbits. Only a three foot tank, but the filter is made for an 8 foot tank, which certainly helps.
