    Facebook.com

awwww it's good to have my alumni college e-mail address. spam is cleverly allowed though announcements (kinda like myspace bulletins). but no message spam, hotter chics and no fake profiles.

met the kid who started it at Foggy Goggle in Boston. real cocky bastard bragging about how much better than myspace they are. he also is one half of http://clubvibes.com. He gave me his card to hook up on a mainstream project but I tossed it aside because he was such a cocky ass. but hey...gotta love the site.

I saw a news "special report" by Fox News on college gambling and one of the interviewees was saying that facebook is rife with casino spam. So I guess there's still SOME spam through their system.

it's possible. I only have a handful of friends. I signed up after meeting the kid back in Jan. I only actually started to participate last week when I found out my little sister and a couple of college friends were on there. So far I have seen a couple of start up companies ( 2 dating sites ) post announcements.

A .edu e-mail address from a school in their database is REQUIRED and if your school isn't listed you must e-mail support to get it validated and added. That system alone eliminates alot of the spam...so if there is any spam going on it's most likely by students.

The kid should be cocky, he's going to get bought out for like 300 million dollars. IN my opinion it is WAY more valuable then myspace, myspace has a ton of retards on it. Atleast this guys audience is college educated and impressionable.

I used to be a promoter in Boston my college days so I know the general manager....only reason I'll step foot in that place. Plus...the bartenders are fucking hot.

I do. I know when I do not need someone. And he was someone that I didn't need to associate with. No matter how lucky he was....

I don't base biz decisions on what someone else can do for me. I am not a whore...I do not whore myself out...What is so hard to understand about that?

The .edu filter definitely cuts down on "unrelated demographics" and preserves the "purity" of the college demographic/community base. This element alone puts it miles ahead of other college community sites like collegeclub.com I think whoever is acquiring the company is acquiring one hell of an asset. Now, if they can only link it to the right college marketing verticals. Definitely cash cow potential.
