Buddy Rich

[Mr.Right - Banned For Life]

i am listening to him now, what a fantastic drummer, he would have to be one of the best.

[CaptainHowdy]

He was and still it's the best... Channel One Suite blows my head off.

Absolutely, but every drummer from the swing era on owes Gene Krupa for changing the music world as we know it.

Download "Sing,Sing,Sing" and your mind will never be the same.

What do you mean "he would have been"?

[Spunky]

I remember him as a kid..He must be in his 70's now isn't he?

[Major (Tom)]

Absolutely, but check "Sing, Sing, Sing"´s version on the Buddy Rich VS Max Roach album... that's quite an improvement on Krupa's style !!

Does anyone remember how he died.

Also did anyone see the dvd where he was drumming for Frank sinatra, it was amazing.

[Ace_luffy]

[escorpio]

Have you ever heard some of the tapes of him going off on his band? He was one harsh motherfucker. Couldn't find any recordings online and all I have is an old cassette tape but here's some transcripts http://www.humblepie.com/buddy.html

Yup. Check out some of the movies about him. He was a big time perfectionist. I used to have some of those old sound clips where he would go off on his players.
