After doing some research and asking around... I'd recommend the sequence of Ring, Ring 2, and Ring 0, with Rasen and Ring Virus last as alternate takes on the source material.

Maybe its just me but I thought the Japanese version was scary and the English one wasn't.
The movies are very similar but the scene near the end with the girl is really shitty on the English version. Too fast and not as creepy.

I went out and got the book this weekend and it's even scarier than the movie!!! (Ring, Koji Suzuki) It's only been translated in French, but the English version should be out soon!

hehehe, you are talking about the US version movie...i saw that Japanese Movie 3 years ago in Hongkong....that could be called scray....between these two,i will say US version is not a scray movie at all!!!!

I just saw it yesterday and the movie is bad ass!! Awesome! I wouldn't say that it is a scary movie as much as keeps u in suspense....

im more interested in the JAP version I havent seen it yet, but I've been downloading clips of it, and reading about it.. It's a triology over there and the storie line is way different and detailed..

I wrote about this last week. On Kazaa type "ringu" there is the japanese version with english subtitles (very clear video and the English words are easy to read). The file is around 690mb. Download before you go to sleep or something because it takes awhile.
