This morning when I turned on my puter I realized yet one more time I had been a victim of yet another nasty little f*cker who changed my startup page on my browser. Little did I know, that was the least of my problems!!! The real problem is...when I went to Tools/Internet options to change the startup page to my usual...I couldn't. Got a Restrictions window instead that tells me: "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your ssystem administrator."
I know for a fact this was not happening yesterday, I also know for a fact that I did not myself, change any settings, so this would happen...to say it bluntly, I would not even know where to go to do so LOL
Other weird things have happened all day long: when I try go into some sites (and they are only a few so far and sites I usually go to several times a day everyday, known, trusted sites) instead of getting the site am looking for I get is virualrealityz.com, the only way I know am there is cuz it has a huge logo that tells me this cuz the url on the address bar does not change, it shows the url of the page I was trying to reach. No matter what link on that page I click on, the url never changes, it stays exactly the same.
I was able to change the startup page back to my usual startup thanks to Gem who suggested this morning that I go thru Control Panel to the Internet settings, so that is not a problem anymore.
Where I really need some help here is on how to gain control over my internet options thru browser. What or where do I need to go and change things as the administrator so I regain that lost priviledge Anyone have a clue?
Has anyone else had this problem before?
Any ideas? suggestions?
Would really appreciate any help you could offer.
