Is there a way to go back to the regular post editor as the default and not the wysiwyg editor?

Yeah, just got to your Admin panel, then click on "options" then "writing" then make sure that "Users should use the visual rich editor by default" is checked.
If it still doesn't work, you may have the feature disabled on your user. If that's the case just go to "Users" and scroll down to "Use the visual rich editor when writing" and make sure that it's checked.
