Do you run a site that accepts member-submitted content? What kind of rules do you put in place, and how do you police it?

Member submitted content is never easy and monitoring it is never simple. We run scripts over all our ads and posts but we look at them all with eyes too. The scripts give us hints but there is no way a script can catch them all. We use member moderators in our forums and that works quite well.

We manually rate, resize & crop the photos. Some people will put their children in their photos thinking it's a good thing. Some people upload pics they steal from some people here. We feel that it's worth the expense to have a site people trust.

Exactly what Maureen says. We do the exact same thing with HardcoreModeling.com. We have strict rules on the images and we approve every profile manually. When a member modifies their profile then it has to go through the same approval process. We manually crop and resize images as well. The more control you have, the better the end result.

Member submitted content will always be risky. Unless you can get a signed model release and IDs you're taking a big gamble it's legal.

if you don't view all the images with a human eye, you are going to have a dating site for example with a man and his daughter posing at a photo studio with a pony in the background, and the profile right above that is the bottleguy.... or even tub girl

Great ideas, thanks. I was considering sites like Consumption Junction also. To an extent, TGPs also fall under this category.

Member submitted content is a real issue if the content is hardcore - new 2257 regs would mean that they would be the primary producer, and would have to conform to those regulations (including publishing an address for them as the custodian of records). If you cannot prove who the content comes from, there is the potential that you would become the defacto primary producer, and without records you are taking on a butt load of responsibility.

Nobody has been whacked on 2257 yet really, so it is an unknown risk.

One of their members has submitted some of our content from UK Flashers to Voyeurweb and they're ignoring all requests to remove it. They've published it along with some bullshit story about how the girl is a penniless student and how he (the supposed photographers) took advantage of that.
