    Mainstream question.

How do you all get around some of mainstreams somewhat odd rules and requirements?

I am not talking about trying to bypass their TOS or anything. What I am talking about is joining them all together. Often they will ask for or require a website that will be used to promote them in the application process, though only provide little or no "approved content" or linkage without being accepted.
Then they disprove you based on the site you build for them with what limited information you do have.

This is sort of a giant catch 22.

They expect to be advertised on existing sites, nothing new.

            Mainstream sponsor program.
Sponsor application wants url of site that will promote it.
Does not provide much content at all outside of affiliate area.
TOS says you must use "approved" content only.
No access to affiliate area until application is approved.
            -------

            Purchased domain.
Set up very basic landing page for PPC advertising, until I can get into affiliate area.
            Filled out application.
Denied due to "content or focus" does not match criteria for program.

Seems like I can not get access without the content, can not get content without the access.

Call a rep at the company and work it out with him/her.

Have a dialog and build trust.

Mainstream is a different world but easy to navigate if you are proactive

really depends on what kind of program you are trying to do, I specialize in infoproducts, and been doing that off and on for 8 years now. Not all mainstream is like that, would have to depend on what you're trying to do.

Your website always needs to be accessible
                  We accept AMEX/Discover/MC/Visa/Paypal/MB/Epass
