So un-fucking-predictable. How does a program go from a steady 1:400 to a pathetic 0:2300 in less than 2 days with the same damn traffic? Movie traffic! How? How?

Man that burns me up! There are always ups and downs but 0:2300...arrrghh .

My buddy also, said the past 2 days have sucked ass(in a bad way).

As for shaving, I dont think so. These guys are a real nice bunch. They "prob" would not do that.

ARS? Topbucks? heheheheh I suggest changing your ads first then switching to text, etc but its no guarantee. I've had $2500 ARS weeks then suddenly skid to $300 a week. Same traffic, same way of sending traffic, same ads.

It happens with many other big sponsors.

Yeah I know the feeling but then all of a sudden you get like 5 sales in a day and you are back down to 1:500.... You can't look at things from day to day. You have to look at the big picture. Month to month...

Hmmm, your sponsor would have to be as stupid as all these pictures being posted to do that kind of drop on you in that short a time if they were really shaving.

Maybe processing issues, maybe your traffic sucked, maybe hosting problems, who knows.

I do know if you send good traffic and get a nice check every week, NO sponsor wants to lose you, so I'd email their support staff asap about it.

they've been doing it for quite some years now
and nobody seems to mind..

If it was a 20% percentage shave people would do some
calculation and say: "that sponsor shaves!"

Sponsors like ARS just shave 50-80% and everybody says:

"nah.. if they would shave THAT much.. they would be stupid"

Ain't ya heard about the Law of Deminishing Returns yet? This can be applied in a variety of ways. Often the pattern is great conversions for first month, cut in half the second, by the third month you are lucky to see a dime (despite no difference in traffic!).

The 48 Hour Law Of Deminishing Returns is when you are doing just fine and converting well - then hit these "bad spots" - It is often needed to have two spreadsheets for this, one for you, three for me :-)

OK.. if ya gotta resort to swearing.. it's called "shaving"

I was sending Program X a little traffic, about 3k monthly. It was good for about 6-9 sales every month, like fucking clockwork. All of a sudden, September had NO sales. None. Same traffic, same sites, same search engines. Emailed support, no answer.

Sure, 6-8 sales a month isn't much, but dropping it down to nothing was pretty stupid. This month is running at about 50% with them...

Well, one thing I can say about ARS [as erratic as its performance maybe on a day to day, and YES, on a month to month basis] is that if PASSES the Boneprone test above.

Umm did I mention ARS anywhere in my post . Its not ARS, its *********. I wont say who, this board is to strong I dont want them to have a bad rap due to 2 bad days im having. Im sure it will pick up, and if it is due to a stats problem, im sure they will fix it soon. As for shaving, I highly daught it. If at any time I would even remotley feel im being shaved i would pull the proggy pronto.

Oh and its not the sponsor in my sig.

I know you've been around the block, miss (not in a bad way...heh heh) but the fact is sponsors shave like a motherfucker. They do.

I split my traffic between several sponsors, a bunch of the majors and one where I happen to know the owner very well. He's a cool guy and is very honest with me about the problems he has, etc.

When everything's fine my traffic with this guy converts at like 1:300. Every month for the last two years, if everything is working okay he manages to convert about the same, tho globally the ratio has dropped steadily from 1:200 to 1:300.

When my ratio skyrockets, I know something is wrong, he'll tell me exactly what's up. 90% of the time there was a processor or server problem.

Moral of the story?

How do I know most everybody shaves? Easy, because I know one person who doesn't.

Only thing I still find it hard to believe they would shave, but who knows.. I want to believe what KimmyKim says. I've also read some other stuff about who am talking about...

I have a sponsor who stops counting stats for an hour somewhere between 2:30 AM and 4:00 AM EST daily. Whether they are shaving or simply performing "maintenance" during this period is beyond me.
