    Dat File

    Hi guys anyone know what i can open a DAT file with. whats the appopriate sofwatre. i recieved it with a few databases and im not sure what its for
    please help out. thanks

    You on windows or UNIX?

    If you just need to see what's inside either Notepad it (windowz), or VI it (unix).

    Then again, don't know much about .dat files.

      Dis file or Dat file?

      Really depends on its associated application as it isn't a "standard" that's the same across the board with all apps.

              yea. figured.
              only thing my lazy ass finds on google is about email attachments having "*.dat" in them. which doesn't sound like a "database" file as described in the original post.
