Need help installing a script

I'm trying to install awstats on a new server and when I run the awstats_configure.pl file it only gives me the option to save the file?

I uploaded in ASCII format and chmodded 755

Thanks... I have read that and still can't get past step 1. I can't understand whats going on... it's a simple .pl script and I have installed tons of scripts in the past without a problem

I misread the stats progam. there are stats logs that you just save or download off your server to view the stats, so you can stfu!!! I thought he was refering to a different program.
