Classic 'kill the messenger'.Originally posted by $5 submissionsDude who took that pic got roasted for not warning people
Instead of fixin' the pothole, people blamed someone else.
What's the guy supposed to do...stand there all day next to the hole with a warning sign?Comment

Waiting with your camera for someone to get hurt is not exactly the right thing to do.Comment

It is quite interesting how the photographer responded to the criticism though:
Liu defended himself, saying: "I just knew that the city government has paved the pit, and without my pictures, the pit would not be noticed by the government, and there would perhaps be more people falling over."
You guys buy that?
Don't get me wrong, the pics were funny but... I sure as fuck wouldn't want to be the guy getting OWNED. Specially given the fact that the guy was lying in wait...waiting to make a 'point' with the local govt with his camera (rolling eyes)Comment

How was he supposed to know someone would get hurt? Cyclists face potholes every day. Its a given fact-of-life.Originally posted by mrthumbsCall the police perhaps?

I don't know about the town/city you live in...but around here there'd be general laughter on the other end of the phone if I called in about a road pothole. And I can only imagine the wait time for someone to actually show up and do something about it.Comment

Perhaps the photos were a way to make lemonade outta lemons for the cyclist. Now he has photographic evidence of the road crew's failure to fix the pothole...resulting in bodily injury.Originally posted by $5 submissionsDon't get me wrong, the pics were funny but... I'd think that would be a bonus for a civil court case (against the city) if he decided to press the issue.Comment

I feel bad for that photographer. He will probably go to prison and be tortured for the rest of his life. The government over there is barbaric.Comment

I wonder if you can even sue the government in China. I think it wasn't even allowed in the US until a few years ago.Originally posted by SilentKnightPerhaps the photos were a way to make lemonade outta lemons for the cyclist.
