Interesting Sextracker Post

Over at LukeFord.Com the Webmaster of Webstripping.Com posts the following:

Hi, I'm not sure if you guys are the ones who can answer this question but here goes anyway. About 1 1/2 months ago I just stopped using Sextracker (Flying Crocodile) as my hosting company. Since then I have still received my weekly traffic stats page of my web site from them. The confusing part is that their stats are still showing a steady flow of traffic to my web site. How can that be since I have changed everything needed to change my hosting companies and all my traffic is now coming to a new location. Does this mean that Sextracker never really tracked my actual traffic in the first place?What do they do, just make up numbers and send them out on their weekly traffic stats page mailings? Boy, I guess leaving them was not such a bad idea after all

What do you all think?

looking at the page source, he has the ST referrer code for his ST counter on the page - that is why he gets the e-mailed stats report.

True. However, if you want to run a *FREE* service for webmasters, have them post illegitimate, slanderous statements about your company, and send them a thank you letter in the mail.... go ahead. We'll see ya in the food stamp line:-)

Maybe you missed the part where they openly tried to slam my company on a chat board without any attempt to resolve the issue with us before hand? Not the kind of publicity I need for a free service... thanks anyway.

I know dam well I took the sextracker tracking code "OFF" the one page I had it on MONTHS ago. "And I still get emails from them". So having the code on the page or not having it make's no Diff. you will get the emails.
