    Silly car question

    Hey anyone out there have a caddy
    my 1982 blew its belt today(the 3 pulley belt)anyone have any ideas on how to bypass the pump that under the alternator(its part of my ac and i really dont need it hook back up as that is the thing that cause the belt to snap, siezed solid)

    you are probably talking about your a/c compressor being seized. you should be able to get one from a junk yard or pep boys for about 50 bucks. installation will be 100. if you want to try the cheaper route, go to lowers/home depot and buy some liquid wrenches. that will unsieze anything. i would try plan a first. since if you break a belt, you are usually stranded if not instantly, you will be when your battery dies.

      wow you car is all shiney inside =O) mine is too.. but you can see any of it.. its all modern and get 40 mpg =o) heh
