If you know the full path and file name, reboot into DOSmode and nuke it.

        this is truly a bugger!

        "Grouped By","File Name","Extension","File Size","Modified Date","Last Accessed","Date Created","Attributes","Path","File Version","Product Version","File Description","File Flags","Operating System","File Type","File Sub Type","Company Name","Legal Copyright","Legal Trademarks","Product Name","Comments","Volume Label","NT Owner"
        "DAT","index.dat","dat",229376,"02/07/2001 21:14:34","02/07/2001","06/10/2000 16:08:41","...a","C:\WINDOWS\Cookies","","","","", "","System data file","","","","","","","",""

it seems to be a duplicate of a normal index.dat that lists all files with 'index' in it. Can't associate it with a program

          try registry...

          HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\

It will be one of the CLSID's. One-click them and look for your title addition
in there. Once you found the new CLSID nuke it...reboot.

With *.dat files they can be nuked when booted into DOSmode.
Windows protects all the *.dats so without Windows running you
should be able to nuke it. Occasinally I nuke the hidden history in Windows.
Its hidden from Windows and DOS. If you want to see it open a DOSPrompt
and CD to c:\windows\history do a "dir" and you see _no_ folder named
"history.ie5", now CD to c:\windows\history\history.ie5 and do a "dir" you
can now see a file "index.dat". Unnukable via Windows but nukable via DOSmode.

For fun do "edit index.dat" and you can see how far back that history file goes.

Btw, that is one of the files Evidence Elliminator nukes and that is their big secret.
Nuke it yourself and save the money.
