    Syst/op security question. Help needed.

My buddy bought a compaq off the street for almost nothing. It seems to have a nice config, but the OS (XP pro) is password protected and he does not have the recovery software. I am trying to help him, but I have never run across this issue. Anyone? Thanks.

Funny the way this place works...I knew this comment was coming. I am not a tech person, rather a photog/promo person. And if he had the disk we could, don't step on me without reading.

          PS nice link thanks

Is that a fancy way of saying he's receiving stolen goods?

Take a look at this. If he does not feel comfortable doing this, i am willing to give a helping hand. In return your going to think im going to ask for $$ or something towards that effect. Nah, I am new to this community and trying to lend a helping hand in areas which im fluent in. So when i put a call in asking for help, people will repay the favor and give me advice.

Your buddy actually has several options, however most of them are all geek related ;) The above link is the easiest solution by far.

Buy one in the shop, it comes with the disks etc. Tell your friend to Go Fuck Himself. And by the way. a big to you to.
