Seems that mailserver, irc server and water are down. This is not the first time that this has happened. I'm glad I moved most of my sites to an unmanaged dedicated box with another provider.

Yea, SinHost is an awesome and very reliable host, but if you guys are in a tough spot and need to temporarily jump onto one of Cavecreeks shared accounts, icq me and we will get you set up ASAP. We would waive all setup fees for this. It would be an hour or two to get setup and once the prohoster outage is over, you can jump right back over.

I can neither confirm nor deny any reports about other companies in our industry... but here is the news straight from the top of Verio:

Spamming operations are no longer wanted on their network, no matter how much they're paying. Verio used to be known as a safe haven for spammers if they had enough money to pay them off... but that is NOT the case anymore.

Several large hosting companies have been cancelled off of Verio's network in the last few months. I would expect that we will see several shut-offs since the money lost in revenue appears to not be an issue with Verio.

Whether you choose SinHost or some other provider my only recommendation is that everyone do their homework first. Hosting is important to all of us that own porn sites so choose wisely! If you're ever in doubt just ask around here on GFY. Despite the complaining that goes on around here you can generally mine good information when you have an important question. Best of luck!

btw, prohosters have been rock solid too, I've been with them almost 2 years now I think. Very seldom something like this happens, on dedicated or semi. Virtuals maybe different. And the support is the best you'll ever find, seems like there's a couple of their techies on IRC every minute of the day.

i used prohosters for about 30 days earlier this year (april) on a small paysite, colo service... it was atrociously bad, i had never dealt w/ such downtime before, and their 'trouble-ticket'/IRC support was laughable at best. one of their tech's kick/ban'd me out of the IRC channel when i started to complain about my server being down for over 6 hours and no response, it was like visiting an AOL chatroom begging someone to dial 911 for you while you bled on the keyboard, no joy at all... yet another adult-related company i'd love to see whither and die..

i love rumors, prohosters did not kicked off the verrio network we chose to leave due to massive amounts of downtime and constant support issues with their staff. This was not a planned move. We are now partnering with globali to provide the best routes to our customers.

we apologize for any and all downtime and pledge to make our service even better in the future. We can assure we will not be moving again, (physically moving). We were located in a VERIO datacenter and were strapped to their short comings, we are now located in an independent datacenter where we don't have to wait for anyone to respond to us.

As always we will take care of each and everyone one of our customers and they know it.

One of my business partners has had problems getting his email blocked with ProHosters, and I did have the downtime, but I can say this about Prohosters:

1) I think Ted is MORE DEDICATED to making his host the best host out there than anyone else. Some people might think this doesn't matter - I do. So many people don't even seem to try.

2) I have had tickets taken care of and domains added on MAJOR holidays within hours. I submitted a ticket on Thanksgiving and New Years Eve at night - both were answered within an hour.

3) I have tried to get that type of support at other places - all swear up and down they will and all are full of shit. I have hosting with probably 10 other companies - three of which advertise or spam their sites on here all the time.

I have waited almost a week getting domains added on one of the big hosts and it is going on several days now since I submitted a ticket as my domains are currently going to another one of their customers.

Another one of the big hosts PROMISED to switch all my content in like 24 hours - a week later I called "Oh, we didn't know you had that much - we ran out of hard drive space". I don't usually get angry, but I did say "You know some people wouldd think you would check that before you started the transfer".

Another big host RAN OUT OF IPS and is charging me twice what my CONTRACT has written on it. I asked for the password to my server I paid them $1700 up front for and $200+ a month and I get the run around.

Good hosting is hard to find. Prohosters has had two periods of downtime since I have been with them that I would consider serious. I just can't get what I get at prohosters anywhere else. Oh, and be careful if you say I can with you - if you are one of the ones listed above - I will out your company

once again misinformaiton, prohosters == spam. Have you guys ready NANAE lately? Pro Hosters has erradicated all spam from it's network and improved all abuse@ response times. We did not get kicked off of VERIO, infact VERIO was more than willing to work with us on our optin emailers, we didn't leave VERIO Because of spam we left VERIO because of service/contract related issues, and the recent downtimes. As far as our entire VERIO block being smooched someone needs to learn how to use ARIN, we have a /18 a /19 and a /20 and about to get another /18. We have never had a problem with ips, we admit we see a problem with spam and are dealing with it very effectively I might add. We are getting delisted because of our cooperation in the spam world. Just wanted to clear this up. Thanks for the support Chris.
