    has anyone seen it?

Seen it last night, it was better than I expected. Great direction.

I know there's some marines on here, I'd wanna know what you guys thought.
I have a friend over there right now and this is pretty much all the perspective I've got on the life in the marines.
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.

I haven't seen it yet; Been way too busy.

However, during a recent trip I picked up the book in the airport to read on the plane. I have no idea how close the book is to the movie. But as a former United States Marine the book fucking digusted me.

I also I read "I love my rifle more than you" but a former Army chick. That also disgusted me.

Not sure what's going on with our military today but it seems to me a lot of these kids expected a four year joy ride, and it never occured to them that they might be sent to a warzone for a year. (I got lucky while I was in and was never deployed to a live combat zone. I wonder how I would have dealt with it.)

Also, I just read "The Making of the United States Marine Corps" that followed a platoon through boot camp at Paris Island - and then afterwards. That gave me a fucking hard on.

It was incredible, everything I was expecting and more. One of my all-time favs, going to see it again this week.

Its ok but really its just a film about a bunch of marines doing fuck all.. why?

The first part of the film they borrowed from Full Metal Jacket then its all about marines hanging around in a adesert? are they trying to say that being a marine in Gulf War you felt kinda pointless and bored and also you might lose your Girlfriend and see some dead bodies?
I mean who cares really! what about the other side Iraqi conscripts sitting in bunkers shitting themselves for months on end, getting bombed to death without firing a shot! I think the marines had it pretty good I just don't get this film really!
