    like a lil msg box pops up every 20 min or so and tells you need to restart

    fuck that, i dont wanna restart.

    any way to disable it ?

        Anyway the way to disable it is to stop the "Automatic Updates" service. Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services... After the service is stopped, the nag message stops, too. Then you can reboot when you have time. The service will restart when you reboo

        fixed the problem

            Actually, this week's critical update is super critical since it patches a security hole in Windows Graphics Rendering Engine. Some hackers developed a trojan exploit that can take over your PC simply by viewing or downloading an infected .JPG image on a malicious gallery site.

            Since we all see so much imagery, this one is one not to be ignored.

              If you're using XP home, I'd just edit the registry and restart the service so you don't have to kill the service every time an update is pushed.

              From a command prompt type 'NET STOP WUAUSERV'

              Save the following in a *.reg file and double click the file:

              Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

              [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Win dows\WindowsUpdate\AU]
              "RebootRelaunchTimeoutEnabled"=dword:00000000
              "NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers"=dword:00000001

              From a command prompt type 'NET START WUAUSERV'
