    RSS in action

    http://www.mrg2000.com/student-loan-...n-reviews.html

Sure it looks like crap.... but

Looks like there's HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of these RSS-generated spam pages each trawling for 1 to 10 clicks per day. However, if you add them all up... not a laughing matter.

I wonder what the ban rate for those types of pages are... (adjusted for webmasters reporting each other for SE spam )

In regards to good SEO practices on Google & Yahoo, why does a site using RSS not get penalized for duplicate content? I've never understood that.

cause a vast majority of legit mainstream sites use syndicated content. You wont find ver many sites in the mainstream with a room full of content writers and story reporters. All you need to do is add a bit of original text to seperate yourself. I use a program that uses free reprint articles but adds a bit of text that I write which seperates me from all the others using the content, puts me way ahead

It all comes back to quantity versus quality. I don't think the owner is looking for bookmarked traffic. That site has over 60,000 pages in Google. It would take one day to build, zero maintenance and last at least three months in Google and prob longer in Yahoo and MSN.

Imagine HUNDREDS of domains with thousands of those article pages each.

Better yet, imagine the same but with READABLE and "real" text content written by dedicated writers hitting high value PPC terms.

I think it may be that they penalize for duplicate content on one site. The whole purpose of rss is syndication so I doubt they would penalize you for using it.
